Girolibero - Bike & Barge Pioneer in Italy

In 2008 we shipped the “Bike and Barge” travel concept over to Italy – quite literally. There were no suitable barges available in the country for this type of holiday, so we decided to buy and transport the Vita Pugna barge over from Holland.

In 2011, we built and launched our second barge, the 4-star “floating hotel” Ave Maria. The two barges now sail the waterways of Northern Italy and Venice. Since 2011, we also charter two romantic barges in Provence and Camargue.

What Girolibero offers its guests

Today, there are over 40 people working in our team, which has flourished over the last 10 years, with all the enthusiasm of an extended family. In 2015, we moved to our new headquarters in Vicenza to our 1,500 m2 large offices, from where we organize all the tours for our 15,000 Italian and foreign guests. Islandhopping's growth through Girolibero

Girolibero and Islandhopping have been great business partners for many years. What connects us is our friendship, trust, and a regular exchange of ideas as well as joint organized tours. Each year Girolobero sends many Italian guests on our bicycle cruises and also books full charter trips just for Italian speaking guests on a regular basis.
