Our Hotel & Bike tours

Hotel & Bike tours are the original cycling holidays. Islandhopping breathes new life into this way of travelling, offering amazing cycling tours in the most extraordinary regions all around the world.

Whether it be across the wide expanse of the Kruger National Park in South Africa, in the legend-shrouded region of Patagonia, through near-forgotten Albania, or on the enchanting south coast of Crete: all our Hotel & Bike tours assure a very authentic experience of your chosen destination. You will be accompanied by local guides on all our guided tours and be able to dive deep into the nature, culture and history of the region. During the trip, you will overnight at specially chosen traditional accommodation or bike friendly hotels and can enjoy the luxury of organised luggage transport. This way you can pedal without a worry in the world through the beautiful regions during the day and, in the evening, simply hop off your bike and enjoy a new, cosy accommodation when you arrive.

We offer guided Hotel & Bike tours in South Africa, Albania and Crete. In Albania there is also the possibility to book a self-guided Hotel & Bike tour with luggage transport. For those who would prefer an MTB & Hotel tour, we have mountain biking holidays in Croatia and Patagonia in our programme.

We also offer self-guided Hotel & Bike tours in Croatia, Italy, Slovenia, and Albania. If you prefer organized bike tours, we recommend our E-Bike & Hotel tour on the Lofoten Islands or our hybrid bike tours through South Africa, Albania, Crete, or Montenegro. For mountain bike enthusiasts, there are also several MTB & Hotel tours in Croatia and Patagonia.

Requirements for our Hotel & Bike tours

All our cycling tours require a basic level of fitness as well as practiced bike handling skills. However, there is something very important to us at Islandhopping regarding all our bike tours: it is a vacation and it is your time to have fun and relax. Therefore, we don’t want you to feel pressured at any point during the cycling tours which is why we ensure that there is always plenty of time to complete the tours at a comfortable pace. Every day, our tour guides will let you know the difficulty level of the planned tour. There is always time to stop for a drink, to take photos or simply to enjoy the view!

It is impossible to predict whether a cycling tour will be easy or difficult for a guest. Several factors play a major role such as individual physical fitness, general well-being, and how each individual copes with cycling in different temperatures.

If you decide to book a self-guided cycling tour, you will receive detailed maps and descriptions of the individual cycling stages. You determine the pace of your journey yourself. You don't have to worry about your luggage: it will be taken to the next hotel by our luggage service, while you can concentrate on cycling and taking breaks whenever you feel like it.

Nevertheless, to give an idea of the requirements for our Hotel & Bike tours, we have separated them into different levels of difficulty for each bike category.
